Description
The 1955 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map shows a service station at the SE corner of the intersection of Jefferson and Hampton with the address of 2114 Jefferson. The filling station itself is one-story brick, with a larger cinder block "washing" connected to the rear/east elevation. The west side of the intersection has various stores and nothing that would have served as a service station. Photo is of the current site, not the Green Book business. The site is now vacant. However, it's possible that the gray building next to the vacant lot was the service station. Site photo by Susan Hellman, 2018.
