Detailed History
Taxicab Service This taxicab service is listed in the Green Book at 508 East Nash Street, Rocky Mount, an address which does not appear to have existed. The 1938 and 1940 City Directories do identify a 500 block of Nash Street, but it is on the southwest side of downtown and was in a white neighborhood. It is unclear to me where this business was located. —Andrew S. Edmonds
