Detailed History
Big Buster This restaurant/tavern is listed in the Green Book along Gillespie Street without a number in the Green Book. I could not find an individual entry for it in the City Directories, but did find mention of it in the 1946 City Directory under the Blue Bird Cab Co listing. It is unclear to me whether Big Buster was located at 119 Gillespie Street – directly in front of the taxi stand – or perhaps at 115 Gillespie Street, a building which is known to have housed a restaurant, such as the Silver Grill Restaurant. —Andrew S.
