Parker's Tavern This tavern is listed in the 1948 & 1949 Green Books at 611 Fayetteville Street, Durham, though the student report focused its attention instead on another Parker's Tavern at 706 East Main Street, which was several blocks to the north. The first mention of a Parker's restaurant on East Main Street is in the 1959 City Directory (it says "Under Constn" in the 1958 directory), so this cannot be the location identified in the Green Books. 611 Fayetteville Street was occupied by the Asia Café, according to the 1944, 1947, 1948, 1949, and 1950 City Directories, so even though the names do not match I have mapped Parker's Tavern at the Fayetteville Street site. —Andrew S.
